Welcome to Rimon Art

My style of paintings is inspired by the impressionists, playing with ratios, colors, and perspective. I aim to capture the innocence of the city, honoring it’s history while recognizing a nuanced desire for peace and quiet in the city. I recognize that the Jerusalem of my past is not the same as today’s Jerusalem, but the city is associated with modernity, and a union of history and modernity, forever a complex dichotomy…

Fanny's February Show

” I am hoping that my final art show at Darchei Noam will provide an opportunity for people to take the feeling of movement, color, and meaning from your temple and into your homes once more. There’s a concept in Judaism that “kol Yisrael aravim zeh le zeh” – we are all accountable and responsible for one another. My intention in partnering with Darchei Noam was always to give access to art with Jewish themes to a young congregation, as families are starting to establish homes and deserve to engage with art that is meaningful and resonates on a deep level. Seeing your congregants engage with my art over the past few years has provided me with exactly that – and it makes me feel proud, and fulfilled. Thank you for the opportunity to fill your walls with color. I’m excited to produce one final show with you all.”

Acrylics

With time I started using acrylics, It gives me freedom that oils did not. Why you ask, acrylics dry faster I can use layer on top of layer to accomplish a statement that was hard to get with oils. Lyering technique truly freed me to reach a broader 3D affect.

Pen & Ink

Pen & Ink drawing is fun smooth and flowing. I love how I can manipulate , darken, lines curves to architecture. My theme throughout my pens and ink is modern music klezmers/jazz, architectural lines of arches , Jerusalem stone, bridges , alleyways and elongated stairs. I like to humanize my drawing. You can find subject matter of males wearing Tallit , or putting on Tephilin .In my memory I go back to my father , the neighborhood synagogue, the melodies of the sephardic toon of prayers and my dad his friends.

Oil Painting

My techniques evolved also through the years, I find my self using all kind of tools to make textures Thickness of paint, use of different brush strokes and palette knives, tape, sponges and more.

I’m using mix media such as oils and a thin cote of acrylic to get an effect of “there” but its not, because oil repel acrylic and water. I’m not as stringent as I use a brush . My use of a brush is loos and airy. I’m using “riskier” technique such as splatter effect ,using an array of collage art,  Indian inks to reach my goal.
